THE MAN IN THE BEAN

THE STORY

"They said they gave the man trapped in The Bean a phone a few weeks ago after he slipped them a drawing of what looked like a cellphone through a crack in the sculpture. They pointed to a section of The Bean’s underside as where the crack used to be, but hypothesized it had since been repaired."

That's a quote in a Chicago Tribune article from a representative of the foundation. 

In August, rumors and protests emerged that here was a man inside of the Chicago bean. Two of The Foundation's representatives established communications with the man inside of the bean to help amplify his calls for release.

One week later, they were interviewed in suits and presented briefcases of evidence to a Chicago Tribune reporter in front of Chicago's bean.
